Split PDF

PDF

Cut a PDF into several PDFs — every page, every few pages, or by ranges — in your browser, never uploaded.

Loading tool…

A scan of twenty invoices that should be twenty files, a report whose chapters go to different people, a long PDF that is too large for an upload form in one piece: splitting is cutting one PDF into several. Drop it in and choose where to cut — every page, every two or three pages, or by ranges you write, such as 1-3, 4-6, 7- — and each page shows which new PDF it will go into before anything is saved.

Pages can be dragged into another order or turned the right way up first. The new PDFs come together in a zip, each named after the original and the pages it holds, and the original is left as it was. Everything happens in your browser: the PDF you are splitting never leaves your device.

How it works

Every page appears as a picture, in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

  2. 2
    Choose where to cut

Every page, every few pages, or ranges such as 1-3, 4-6, 7-. Each page shows the PDF it goes into.

  3. 3

The new PDFs are saved together in a zip, each named after the pages it holds.

Frequently asked questions

Can I split a PDF into single pages?

Yes: choose Every 1 page, and each page becomes a PDF of its own. A PDF of 30 pages makes 30 files, together in one zip.

How do I split at particular pages?

Choose By pages and write the ranges, one for each new PDF: 1-3, 4-6, 7- makes three files, the last running to the end. A range can repeat a page, if every part should start with the same cover.

Can I split every two or three pages?

Yes: choose Every and set the number. Ten pages split every three make four PDFs — three of three pages and one of the last page.

Are the new PDFs the same quality?

Yes. The pages are copied as they are, text, pictures, links and form fields included; nothing is redrawn or compressed.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. It is read and the new PDFs written in your own browser. Choosing the cuts costs nothing; saving counts as one of the day's free runs.
