These terms govern your use of Alvseike. By using the site you agree to them. Last updated 3 August 2026.
The service
Alvseike provides browser-based tools that process your files locally on your device. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
Acceptable use
Use the tools lawfully and don't attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer or abuse the service or its free-usage limits. You are responsible for the files you process.
Accounts & subscriptions
Some features require an account. Pro is billed monthly or annually and can be cancelled at any time from your account; access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
Who you are buying from
Polar Software Inc. (Polar) is the merchant of record for every Alvseike purchase. That means Polar — not Alvseike — is the seller on your order: it takes the payment, calculates and remits any VAT or sales tax, and issues your invoice. Polar will be the name on your card statement.
Alvseike provides the service itself and holds your account. Polar's terms apply to the purchase alongside these terms; where the two conflict on payment, tax or invoicing, Polar's govern, because those are Polar's obligations to you rather than ours.

Prices & tax
Prices are shown in US dollars and include any VAT or sales tax that applies where you are. The figure on the pricing page is the amount you are charged — tax is broken out on the invoice rather than added at the end. Business customers can enter a VAT number during checkout, which Polar applies where the rules allow.
We may change prices as the product evolves. A change never affects a period you have already paid for, and you can cancel before the next renewal if a new price does not suit you.
Cancelling & refunds
Cancel whenever you like, from the billing portal linked in your account. Pro keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for, and it does not renew after that. We do not bill for a notice period.
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA or the UK you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital services. Because a subscription gives you the full service immediately, checkout asks you to agree to it starting straight away — and doing so ends that 14-day right, which is what the law requires us to tell you before you agree.
Beyond that, refunds are processed by Polar as the seller. If something has gone wrong — a charge you did not expect, a subscription you meant to cancel, a feature that did not work — email hello@alvseike.com and we will sort it out with them. We would rather refund someone than keep money they did not mean to spend.
Free usage limits
Without an account you may run the tools a limited number of times per day, and a free account raises that allowance. Because everything is processed in your browser rather than on our servers, these limits are applied by the site itself rather than enforced technically — please respect them. A single export counts as one run whether it contains one file or several, and free plans process a limited number of files per batch. Pro removes both limits.
Installing the app & offline access
Alvseike can be installed on your device as an app. Working offline is a Pro feature: while you are online and subscribed, your browser stores a short-lived, signed authorisation that lets the installed app keep working without a connection. It lasts up to seven days and renews automatically whenever you are online, so offline access stops within that period after a subscription ends. Removing the app, clearing site data, or signing out clears it immediately.
Offline use processes files exactly as the site does — on your device, with nothing uploaded. We can't verify your subscription without a connection, so please don't attempt to defeat or extend that authorisation; doing so breaches these terms.
No warranty
We work hard to keep the tools reliable, but we can't guarantee they'll be error-free or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, Alvseike isn't liable for any loss arising from use of the service — always keep backups of important files.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Norway, and disputes belong to the Norwegian courts. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, nor your right to complain to your local consumer body.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the date above.
