Alvseike is built to be private by design. Here is exactly what that means and the little data we handle. Last updated 26 August 2026.
Your files never leave your device
Every Alvseike tool runs entirely in your browser. Images, videos, audio and PDFs are processed locally using your device's own resources — they are never uploaded to a server, and we never see, store or transmit their contents.
Chrome extensions
Alvseike Capture is a Chrome extension. It records a region of the current tab only after you click the toolbar icon or use the capture hotkey. The recording stays in memory on your device until you download it as WebM or a GIF. We do not upload recordings, do not run analytics in the extension, do not use an account, and do not access a page until you start a capture.
The extension has no always-on content scripts and does not request host permissions. After you start a capture, last-region size and position may be stored in sessionStorage on that page only; that value never leaves your device and is not sent to Alvseike.
Optional links in the extension open alvseike.com tools in a new tab when you click them. Those pages follow the rest of this policy. The extension itself does not load remote code.
Account information
You can use most tools without an account. If you sign in, our authentication provider (Clerk) stores your email address, name and profile image so we can identify you and manage your subscription. We don't sell or share this information.
Usage & analytics
We record anonymous, aggregated tool-usage counts — which tool was run, and on which day — to power the free daily limit and to understand which tools are useful. These counts are tied to your account id if you're signed in, or to a random anonymous identifier if you're not. They never include your files or their contents.
We don't use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or analytics that profile you, and we don't sell or share your data.
Payments
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Polar Software Inc. (Polar), our merchant of record. To take the payment and meet its tax obligations, Polar collects your billing name, email address, country and — where the law requires it for tax — your address and any VAT number. Polar is an independent controller of that information and keeps invoice records for as long as tax law obliges it to, which is not something we can shorten on request. See Polar's privacy policy.
Card details never reach us. We do not see, handle or store a card number at any point.
What we do keep is the minimum needed to know whether your account is entitled to Pro: your subscription's status and renewal date, the billing email it was bought with, and Polar's own identifiers for the customer and subscription. No card data, no billing address, no purchase history.
Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies: a secure session cookie when you're signed in, and an anonymous identifier used only to count your free daily usage. No third-party advertising cookies.
Your rights
You can view and update your profile at any time from your account, and delete your account and its data on request. To exercise any data right, email hello@alvseike.com.
